Money Making & Saving Websites
Pinecone Research: So if you are already familiar with my blog, you know by now that I am a crazy fan girl for Pinecone Research. For those of you who don’t know what Pinecone Research is, it’s a survey company (which now also has an app, yay!) that gives you money for taking super brief (try 2-3 minutes kind of quick) surveys. Each survey pays $3.00 and sometimes you will even get the chance to try products for free. How can it get any better? If you’re interested in learning about more great survey opportunities like this, check out my blog post here.
Airbnb: If you are looking to travel more often but are having difficulty finding cheaper ways to do it, Airbnb is a great option. Sometimes when I go out of town I want to get a more authentic feel for the place I am traveling to. The best way to do this is to stay in a short-term vacation rental. What makes these rentals even more awesome is that they are very reasonably priced and often you can stay in a super fancy home for less than the cost of an average hotel. A lot of the time the rentals come with a kitchen and multiple rooms so if you have a large group, you can all comfortably stay in one convenient location! Oh and to sweeten the deal, if you go through this Airbnb link, you get $35 off your next stay. To give a little perspective, many of the vacation rental are less than $100/night so that is a great deal!
Ebates: So if you aren’t already aware of Ebates, I am now introducing you to THE biggest and best cash back service for online shopping (tied right with Ibotta). In case you haven’t ever used a cash back site or app before, all you do is shop as you regularly would by selecting the store you would like to shop via the Ebates website and you get cash back for your purchases. To get you started, if you sign up for Ebates through my link, you receive a free $10 cash back!
Ibotta: Now I am going to introduce you to the other amazing cash back service that I previously mentioned. Just like Ebates, you get an awesome $10 bonus just for signing up! The primary use for Ibotta is via their app but the easiest way to get started on your account is through this Ibotta link so you can set yourself up for that $10 before you forget!
Amazon Prime Student: Personally, I use Amazon all the time, especially for my textbooks. I have checked so many websites for cheap textbooks but I end up coming back here because the prices are awesome, plus, I have an Amazon Prime Student account. If you go through this Amazon link, you get 6 MONTHS FREE of Amazon Prime Student. After those 6 months, you will get 50% off if you are a student. Since most of us tend to use Amazon on a consistent basis, why save some money and get free 2 day shipping?
Wolfram Alfa: If you are having trouble with your math, engineering or any other equations based class, this website is truly a lifesaver. I had initially heard of it from my nerdy partner and, to be honest, I shrugged it off at first. Then when calculus came, out came this website as well. Seriously, try it out if you need some math help!
Code Academy: If you are looking to beef up your resume on the cheap with some desirable coding skills, I highly recommend this site. It is free and provides you with hands on learning.
Audible: Interested in learning or listening to juicy new stories while on your way to class? What makes Audible great is that you are able to listen to books on any device from your desktop computer to your cellphone to your car speakers. I personally use Audible so I can learn more about finance, investing, and blogging. It’s truly great! Each month you receive one new credit to use on any of the audio books in the shop. You don’t need a contract and can cancel at any time!
Bluehost: Not sure where to look for hosting your new WordPress blog? I personally use Bluehost for my hosting needs as it is one of the top web hosting companies and it’s easy to get started on the cheap! When I first started comparing companies, I was seriously lost. All I knew is I wanted to go with one of the best companies but I didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg. Well, it turns out my fears were totally unwarranted because all of the huge bloggers I loved were using Bluehost. So I thought, what the heck? I’m sure you guys are dying to hear how much it costs at this point; Bluehost is only $3.95/month through this link.
Genesis/StudioPress: If you are like me and don’t want to spend a whole lot of time getting your blog up and looking sexy, I recommend using Genesis. This is particularly useful if you want an actual pre-made design for your blog. What makes it even more awesome is that you can customize everything so that it is unique to you! Genesis is what I used on my blog, and I seriously found it to be such a lifesaver. Along with the Genesis theme, I added a theme called Pretty Chic to give the look of my blog an extra boost. It ended up costing a bit more, but I am happy I made the upgrade because I think it is absolutely gorgeous looking.
Tailwind: Having trouble trying to figure out the best times to pin to Pinterest? Or maybe you don’t have the time to be sitting at the computer all day waiting for the perfect moment to pin. It’s okay, I don’t like my life to be dictated by pinning either! So that I am able to make my daily schedule as flexible as possible, I use a site called Tailwind; this site allows me to schedule pins ahead of time so that I can dedicate my time to more important things. If you’d like to try it out, feel free to use my Tailwind link; it gives you $15 in free credit. Yup, that just happened. Enjoy!
