  1. Just bought some wax paper today.. We use it to cover food in the microwave. Have also used it in a pinch to decorate a cake with frosting.

  2. Always good to remove build up from bottom of your iron. Just run warm iron over wax paper a few times to make it glide smother. Be sure to iron on old fabric scrap brfore using on your clothing.

  3. Hi, I love wax paper! I always get into a fight with cling wrap – and it wins! Wax paper is friendlier! I wrap sandwiches, muffins and snacks. My mom always used it to cover food in the microwave because cling wrap shrinks into the food and we’ve always wondered about the safety of it when it gets heated (plus I never buy it because of my previous comment! Thank you for the fire starter idea though! I’ve been using lint and bits of old candles and crayons melted into cardboard egg cartons – break off one “egg” of lint/wax as you need to start a fire. I use cheap vaseline if I don’t have old crayons or candles but wax paper is a great alternative! Love it! Easy for my teen son to make too!

    • Hello Paris!

Who knew wax paper could be so useful! Your fire starting method is so creative. I would have never thought of that.

Thanks so much for reaching out. : )

  4. I’ll add one more tip I line the tops of my kitchen cabinets with wax paper, all the greasy dust sticks to it and I just change it out ! Quick and easy!

  5. I use wax paper in a pallet box with a lid when I paint with acrylics. I simply dampen paper towels, then lay wax paper on top of the towels, then my paints. This keeps your paints moist while you paint and in between settings.

  6. The pictures help but an explanation with them would be better and helpful. Especially the one using the printer. also the one using the swiffer mop, does it just dust the floor?

  7. Hi there Thanks for a clear and visually helpful post. I just use wax from a lump of beeswax (sewing supply) for most of these “problems”. The issue with lint though … if there is enough lint in your home to make fire lighters, then it is clear that this post is NOT about saving the planet. The re-use, re-cycle issue I thought I was looking at is just not here. The best thing any of us can do is to stop using tumble dryers. If you are fire-starting on a budget, why buy wax paper? Use any junk mail, or newspaper tightly screwed up and some sticks from the next time you are out for a walk – kindling !! Job done
